Rules of participation
The competition is open to young pianists of all nationalities, including stateless people. There are no restrictions of any kind with regard to the musical education of the competitor (e.g. university, college, academy, conservatoire, music school or private instruction).
All categories of the competition are open to the public (concert dress is required). The Competition will be held in the Sächsisches Landesgymnasium für Musik Dresden and at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden (final round of the Category IV).
The order of performance is determined by random selection in the form of a lottery system at the opening ceremony.
By participating in the competition, all candidates cede to the competition the right to record, reproduce and distribute their performances in the competition. Fees may not be claimed by any competitor on account of recordings or broadcasts made during the whole competition. All materials will be used solely with a purpose to publicize the results and to promote the 2nd International CARL MARIA VON WEBER Competition for Young Pianists.
The prize winners are required to perform in the competition concerts without payment. The participants do not have recording rights and may not make claims if a performance is recorded and broadcast.
In the event of disagreements or differences of opinion arising from translation, the German text of the printed brochure is definitive.
