Sekundarstufe II
For the attendance of fifth and sixth form, some special regulations apply at the Landesgymnasium für Musik (cf. SOGYA §§ 42, 43, 49). However, the Oberstufe leads to the allgemeine Hochschulreife (general entrance requirement for higher education) just as in every other secondary school.
Special features of the course choice
The students take three advanced courses:
- Music (the instrumental main subject is part of this advanced course)
- Maths or German
- one more advanced course (History, English, Art or Physics)
- Orchestra, Big Band or Choir as compulsory basic course
- one foreign language up to the A-level exam
- no basic course Chemistry
Special features of the A-level exam
- The advanced courses Music and Maths/German are written exams.
- The third advanced course is taken as an oral exam at basic course level.
- The instrumental/vocal final exam is counted as the practical part of the advanced course Music.
